Intervention 2011 really appreciates the help and support from all of our attendees–you guys are the reason we’re doing this event. In some cases though, people go above and beyond to help enable us to do this event, and we like to point that out.
Shy Matsi is one of those people. Shy, as an Enabler level 5, gave us the extra resources to provide even more great stuff for the event.
We want to thank Shy, all of our other Enablers, and the attendees of Intervention 2011 for helping us get Intervention 2011 up and running–see you all this weekend!

We have so much happening at Intervention 2011 it can be easy to miss some of the less obvious bits of information on programming or other parts of the event.
For instance, check out this incredible limited edition poster that our publication head Chris Impink created:

The 13 x 19 inch poster will be given out to people who have purchased Enabler Level 2 and above and will be at the Intervention Merchandise table in the Vendor Room. Remember to get it signed by all of our guests!
We are also excited to have “Portfolio Review” workshops as part of our schedule this year. For a few hours each day of the event a selection of our guests and artists will be available to talk one on one with attendees and help review your work and provide feedback. Please look at the schedule for the “Workshop Room” section for the times for each day when this is available.
Along these lines, we also have a very special workshop scheduled for Friday night (September 16th). Starting at 10pm in the Workshop Room (right after her appearance at 9pm on the “Dating Advice for Nerds” panel in the Large Panels room), E. Foley of GeeksDreamGirl.com will bring her online dating expertise to Intervention. Stop in and ask her questions and get feedback on how to hook up your online dating profile. Her open workshop will last until midnight.
We strongly suggest you peer through the schedule, con book, and website to see the many great events at Intervention 2011. You’ll want to bring your sneakers, a lot of running will be required :)

We wanted to make a mention of some of our video room showings that you might want to make plans to attend: Ninjas Versus Vampires and Working Class Nightmare.

Ninjas Versus Vampires is the 2nd movie in the “Ninjas Versus” series (the first being Ninjas Versus Zombies) and it delivers exactly what you think: Ninjas beating the crap out of Vampires, and vice versa. We’ll be doing 2 showing of the film at Intervention: Friday the 16th at 9pm, and Saturday the 17th at 3pm–followed shortly by a panel by the creators Endlight Entertainment at 5pm in Panel room 2 to discuss the making of the film and any other questions you might have. Endlight also has a table in the Vendor Room, so you can buy the movie or other merch from them.

Then we have “Working Class Nightmare”, a new horror web series that will be making a debut of sorts at Intervention–a “Work In Progress” showing that will be hosted by it’s director Jay Joseph on Saturday the 17th at 1pm in the Video Room, and he’ll be available to take your questions about it’s development after the showing.
We’re really excited to have these two new independent films at the event this year.

In a previous post we started showing you some of the stuff we’d have to give away to attendees to Intervention 2011, well now you get even more temptation:

What Could Be In this Ominous Shipping Bag?

Why, it’s a bunch of Russian Games! From
Right Games. They’re in English of course, and some people participating in our
Board Gaming area will get to take some home with them.

Want To Stay Up All Night?
For those of you in either our Board Gaming area, or Video Gaming area, you might be lucky enough to get a bit more energy to keep going through your marathon gaming session by getting some Bawls Energy drinks.

Time To Make Art!
Of course, those of you more on the artistic side might be interested in creating your own Manga or Anime–so you’ll want to know all about the Smith Micro software we’ll be giving out to some lucky people. Both Anime Studio and Manga Studio is available, with debut and professional levels as well. We’re really excited to see what you guys use this for over the next year–maybe you can debut your work at Intervention 2012!

Like Owls Much?
We also have some “Hoot Kits” from the guys at Hootsuite. And you know how much we love Owls :)

Yum!…I Guess?
And what event would be complete without some delicious ThinkGeek Unicorn Meat? If you are at the event on Friday you’ll have a good shot of having some of this…*gulp*…delicious fare yourself.

The Show Stopper!
And of course the premiere star of the show, Wacom’s Intuous 4 Pen Tablet. The professional’s tool. Oni uses one of these to do all of her comics and other graphics work. It’s the standard in the industry for a reason–and we have 2 of them to give away. You can also stop in a watch some demos with one being used–Oni will be doing a Manga Studio demo with it and we have some Photoshop panels as well.
So we hope you liked this second sneak peek at some of the thousands of dollars worth of stuff we’ll be diving out. (oh yeah, there’s more, but we’ll save that for the next sneak peek posting :) )
