757 Comic & Cartoon Creators [757ccc]

Hey All,

I feel like I know most of you folks through some common friends and acquaintances. I felt this was the appropriate sub-forum to make my first post, so here goes....

I'm a wannabe webcomicker. Well, cartoonist, really (the web part is just the most convenient delivery platform). I'm not quite there yet (but that's a long, boring story that I'm sure I'll whine about incessantly sooner or later).

What I have been doing is this: I've been helping to grow a local creators' community in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area called 757 Comic & Cartoon Creators (757 is the general area code for the region).

A couple of the Intervention guest creators are founding members of 757ccc (and friends), and I'll be tagging along with them to absorb the energy, inspiration, and atmosphere.

So, while it's not a practical thing to set up a table or booth for 757ccc (since the whole point of the group is to promote local creators), I'd love to meet other regional community coordinators and learn what works for their groups and share what I can about 757ccc.

to suggest a scheduled meet up. If you want to promote around that you'll be having a meet up at Intervention we can provide a room to get your group together. We want people to be able to use Intervention as a focal point to get together and talk about issues, or just chat, about these types of things.

Hey Guys, I am one of those common friends and acquaintances and also one of the founding members of the Meetup group CaptKevman was mentioning. I totally dropped the ball on this one and didn't know for sure if Kev was gonna be making it up for the con. (Sorry Kev, I've been lost in my con preps for the last few months and seem to be oblivious to everything going on around me)

Let me know if you need any help setting up the Meetup meetup. I think meeting with other coordinators from the region would be a great idea. Let me know what you arrange and I'll totally promote it in the blog at Reality Amuck.
