Intervention is held at the:
Hilton Washington DC/Rockville
1750 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland, United States 20852-1699
Intervention has negotiated the low hotel rate of $114.00 per night with the Hilton Rockville. You can reserve your room now by going to our specialized Hotel registration site.
If you prefer you can also call and reserve your room. In that case tell them you are booking for Intervention 2013 when calling to get the discounted rate.
IMPORTANT NOTE regarding hotel room rates — there are times where an “Advance Purchase” rate may be available for Intervention’s weekend that is lower than our negotiated room rate of $114 per night. As a public service, Intervention would like to ensure that anyone using that rate to come to Intervention is aware of the following restrictions on the rate: once a hotel reservation is booked at that rate, the cost of the entire stay is charged upfront at the time of the reservation and the reservation cannot be modified, transferred or cancelled in any way. Intervention’s hotel room rate will always be the lowest available rate that allows for modifications and cancellations up to 24 hours before checking in.
If you have any questions on any hotel issue, please e-mail our Hotel Liaison at firstname.lastname@example.org

Note on Use of DC Metro during Intervention Weekend:
The metro station behind the hotel, Twinbrook, is affected by the work this weekend.
The good news is that anyone using the metro to get to us on Friday won’t be affected, but the bad news is anyone using the metro to get to the hotel Saturday, or who will use it to get home on Sunday, will be affected.
So on Saturday, anyone coming from DC/VA/MD would take the Metro to Friendship Heights, get on a shuttle bus for three stops, get back on the Metro at Grosvenor and take that two stops to Twinbrook.
On Sunday, anyone going to DC/VA/MD would take the Metro at Twinbrook two stops to Grosvenor, get on a shuttle bus for three stops, get back on the Metro at Friendship Heights, and take that wherever they need to go.
If you are coming in to Intervention by airplane your best bet is to use Ronald Reagan Washington National airport, this is the closest airport to our location. To get to Intervention from Regan National, get on Metro at the National Airport station and ride either the Blue line train to Metro Center, or the Yellow line train to Gallery Place. At either of these stations, head upstairs to catch a Red line train towards Shady Grove. Get off at the Twinbrook Metro station on the Red line and walk across the parking lot to our hotel!
BWI (Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport) is also doable, but is would require a much longer Metro/bus ride to get to our location. When you are at BWI, catch the B30 bus from one of two stops: one is located on the lower level of the International Concourse and the other stop is located on the lower level of Concourse A/B. The B30 will pick you up outside at the bus shelter. Follow the signs that say “Public Transit.” This bus will take you to the Greenbelt Metro station at the end of the Green line. Take the Green line towards Branch Avenue, and get off at Gallery Place, go upstairs, and transfer to the Red line heading in the direction of Shady Grove. Get off at the Twinbrook Metro station on the Red line and walk across the parking lot to our hotel!
If you are coming in to Intervention by Amtrak you will be arriving at Union Station in Washington. To easily get to our location take the Washington Metro Red Line to the Twinbrook station (which is literally right behind our hotel).
Here are some options for bus travel.
Option 1: Vamoose Bus
Vamoose bus runs several trips daily between New York and Bethesda, MD. (They then stop in Arlington and Lorton, Virginia). Trips to Bethesda take about 4-4.5 hours, based on traffic, road conditions, etc.The Bethesda stop is around the corner from the Bethesda Red Line stop of the Metro (DC-area’s subway system)
Option 2: Bolt Bus
Bolt Bus drops off at Union Station in Washington, DC, which is on the Red Line of the Metro.
Intervention is very lucky to have ample parking space in the area surrounding the con hotel. The hotel itself has garage parking for those who want the most convenience. In addition we are located in front of the Twinbrook train station, which has plenty of parking space available (and is free after work hours on Friday and all of the weekend). In a pinch there are a ton of store and mall parking just a short distance away.
