Reminder: Artist Alley Application Deadline March 1, 2011

We’d like to remind everyone that the first deadline for inclusion in the Intervention 2011 Artist Alley is March 1st 2011. After March 1st we will begin reviewing all of the submitted applications and begin the first round of selections and send out acceptances.

This does not mean you shouldn’t submit an application after March 1st though. If we fill the room you can still be added to the waiting list–and we had a few cancellations last year.

So if you haven’t put in your application yet, do so now, or as soon as you can.

Katsucon Wrap Up

We’d like to thank Katsucon for being a great host for Intervention, as well as for our comic Stupid and Insane Defenders Against Chaos. We’d also like to thank everyone who stopped by our tables, as well as the attendees who came to both of our panels.

We blew though almost all of our Plush Owls, so we’re going to try to do a restock soon. We also appreciate all of you guys who registered for Intervention at the con–if you liked the stuff you saw us do at Katsucon, it’s only a small taste of the panels and events we’ll be having at this year’s Intervention.

Intervention iDevice app updated

For all of you guys with iDevices (iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad), we’ve just updated the Intervention app to reflect the 2011 event. It will have many more updates over the next few months, but for now it now has the basic proper info for the 2011 event.

Reminder: Early Owl Registration and Artist Alley Sign Ups

We just wanted to post a friendly reminder that a few things are currently ongoing:

1) Our “Early Owl” Pre-Registration cost for attendees is only $30 for the full weekend rate right now, which is $15 off the at-door cost for the event. At this cost level you could easily add in an Enabler level with your registration for the same cost as paying the at-door rate (and get some free stuff for yourself as well).

2) We are in the process of accepting Artist Alley applications for 2011. The deadline is March 1st 2011. Once that date has passed we will begin reviewing the applications and sending out our approvals.

3) Intervention will be at Katsucon on Feb. 18-20th. We will have a table and be able to process registrations in person (cash and credit card). Onezumi and I will be at the Intervention table as well as our own table for Stupid and Insane Defenders Against Chaos. So we will be selling our regular t-shirts and merchandise as well as plush owls and other Intervention stuff related stuff.

So come check us out and the other fun Anime events at Katsucon this weekend!

Intervention 2010 Panel Video: Writer-Artist Teamwork For Webcomics

One of our last Intervention 2010 panel videos is now online for the panel: Writer-Artist Teamwork for Webcomics.

Description: So you love to draw and your friend has this really cool story idea. You want to get together and combine your skills to make an awesome webcomic, but where do you start? This panel will cover tips on working together as a webcomic team — scripting and design work, effective communication of ideas, do’s and don’ts, some helpful tools to use, and management of workflow so that you can make your collective ideas into a comic that reflects the best of both your abilities — without driving each other crazy.

Panelists: Erin Fitzgerald, Chezhnian Angelus, Chris Impink, Danny Valentini, Mike Hall
