Kosmos (2016) — Saturday and Sunday, 11 am-1 pm
Written and directed by Si Horrocks

Human genetics expert Philip Huyt battles to persuade doctors and family not to give up on his wife, Amy, who is in a coma and showing no signs of brain activity. Then a maverick health insurance rep Louis Lewis discovers something very strange – nobody seems to know why she’s in a coma. So Philip agrees to let Amy be a guinea pig for a new technology which can detect “psi-complexes” (dreams and memories) and must enter her mind to experience them himself, hoping to solve the mystery behind her condition before those who wish her dead are successful.
Originally aired as a multi-part webseries with episodes “unlocked” after the previous episode achieved a certain number of views, the complete version of Kosmos will be premiering in its entirety at Intervention 7! Made for sci-fi fans who like stories with a puzzle to unlock, like Lost or Twin Peaks, Kosmos has achieved a devoted fan following since its premiere last year.
“I’m so thrilled that Kosmos will be getting it’s first public screening at intervention Con this year. We had so much fun making the show, with a great cast which includes convention favourites Terry Molloy (Dr Who) , Virginia Hey (Farscape) and Jon Campling (Harry Potter). Everyone involved entered into the “do the best with what we have” nature of the production. Some moments in the production were a little anxiety causing – after raising £30,000 on Kickstarter.com, we found ourselves one week away from shooting, without a single location confirmed to shoot in. As we quickly discovered shooting in actual hospitals was prohibitively expensive, we had to be inventive. The hospital room in which Philip’s wife lies in the coma was created within a friend’s small artist studio – at the same time as we were shooting scenes in the office of a film school, in another part of town. The paint was still drying on the walls when we turned up to shoot! I hope you have as much fun watching as we did making it, and I also hope to bring you more Kosmos SciFi mystery in the future.” — Si Horrocks, writer/director

Trekoff: The Motion Picture (2016) — Friday and Saturday, 10 pm-midnight
Directed by Justin Timpane
TREKOFF: The Motion Picture, which will be screening in its entirety at INTERVENTION, is a feature length documentary-comedy which follows Justin and Alexia as they meet other Trek artists, visit a replica of the Enterprise, watch a Trek burlesque show, and perform live at Trek and geek-centered cons (including Intervention!) The independent Critic said: it had “so much heart and humor and NSFW set-ups that you simply can’t help but get caught up in its spirit.”
In addition to the showing of the film, there will also be a live Trekoff panel at the event Saturday at 9 PM, just before the second showing.
“First, come to that OTHER Trek movie event of 2016, and watch TREKOFF: The Motion Picture with us! This totally hilarious, sexy, NSFW voyage through Trek fandom will entertain, (possibly offend) and ultimately inspire you with its love of all things TREK! Then, stick around for our fan-favorite LIVE show, where we play TREK games, talk TREK news, and get sexy as HE double hockey sticks. The most fun you will have all weekend is here at TREKOFF!” — Justin Timpane
